1st Day Final Eliminator

With amazing streaming provided by Ryan Carey, those of us unable to be present in Philadelphia were able to watch this fascinating evening of tennis. Great commentary being provided throughout by Barney Tanfield with guest commentators joining him throughout the 4 sets being played.
This was ‘new territory’ for both players – John Lumley and Nick Howell – neither had contested a final eliminator before and would Lumley have the advantage over Howell of ‘home advantage’.
At the end of the 1st day’s play it would appear that Lumley does have home court advantage with the score standing at 4/0 in sets 6/3, 6/1, 6/2, 6/4.
The huge thing with a best of 13 set match is the players have a day to regroup and rethink their strategy and tactics before another 4 sets are played on Wednesday, starting 17:30EST. Howell has to win 2 sets on Wednesday to take the match to a 3rd day.
