The Australian Open is the first event of the new world ranking cycle for the challenge in 2016. It is also the first time a new ranking system will be used. From the 1st January 2014 the world ranking cycle will run over three years rather than the two it has done to date. Therefore, the results achieved in 2013 will not fall out of the calculations on 1st January 2015. This will give the ranking programme more tournament results and the 100 point rule to achieve a world ranking position will no longer be used and the seeding of tournaments will be taken from the new world ranking system.
The draw for the event will be published on this site following the closing date of 5.00pm (AEST) Monday 16th December 2013
