Applications are invited for the positions of Professional/Club Manager and Assistant Professional at the Sydney Real Tennis Section of the Cheltenham Recreation Club (SRTC), ideally starting on 1 April 2025. SRTC will open in early 2025 and is located at the Cheltenham Recreation Club (CRC), in an attractive suburb of one of the world’s great cities.
Chris Ronaldson is the founding professional, establishing the club and its working practices. He will leave Sydney at the end of April 2025, enabling the new recruits to overlap. These professionals will play a pivotal role in the success of the club.
The successful candidates will be fully involved in all aspects of running the club and must ensure that every member or guest will have the best possible experience every time they visit SRTC. Alongside the requirement to coach all levels of players, mark matches, make balls and repair and maintain racquets and balls, they will need to be actively involved in promotion, working with the SRTC Committee to bring new players and members to the club.
Key attributes will be a strong work ethic, enthusiasm, integrity, flexibility and motivation to work in a rapidly expanding club. They must be efficient, friendly and dependable, and create a positive, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Genuine commitment to making SRTC an outstanding club is vital.
Remuneration packages will be incentive-driven, rewarding high levels of court utilisation and new member acquisition, and will include superannuation (pension). The precise details will depend upon experience, qualifications and skills.
