Change venue for Australian Open 2027

AUSTRALIAN OPEN 2027
There is a change of venue, but not dates, for the 2027 Australian Open Singles and Doubles. It will now be held at the Sydney Real Tennis Club from 4th to 14th January 2027. The Ballarat Real Tennis Club had planned to host next year’s Open but has regretfully concluded that the Open would overstretch its current capacity.
ARTA appreciates that Ballarat must focus in the next 12 months on building up its membership and resources. We look forward to many successful tournaments there in the years ahead. We are immensely grateful to Sydney for stepping up and taking on their first Grand Slam event.
We are confident of a strong total prize fund. Information on the minimum prize pool will be provided by 25 August, along with further tournament details. Sydney intends to house visiting players and is very excited to be hosting its first ever Australian Open. It will be a big few months for Sydney, as it will also host the Australian Open Women’s Singles and Doubles, immediately after the Ladies' World Championship in Melbourne in March.
Sydney is a wonderful city with so much happening over the summer, including both Test Match and Big Bash cricket while the Open is on, along with top class lawn tennis in the United Cup. So there is plenty for visiting players to do, as well as enjoying the Sydney Real Tennis Club and the action of the Open.
